Solidarity Resolution with Syria

11/11/2009 7:13:49 PM - Executive Committee WPC

Solidarity Resolution with Syria

In its Meetingin Damascus on 23-25 Oct 2009, the WPC EC discussed the situations in the Middle East Regionand the threats and dangers this region is exposed to because of Israel aggressive, expansionist and racist policy and terrorist practices, as well as the Imperialist-Zionist plans and designs which want to impose American-Israeli hegemony and expansionist plans, loot the region resources, oil in particular, and control its strategic location.
The Delegatesexpressed their rejection and condemnation of such plans and Israel aggressive expansionist policy which is embodied in its continued occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights, building settlements there, stealing its waters, annexing it, imposing Israeli laws on it, exploiting its resources, seeking to Judaize it, perpetrating the ugliest forms of criminal oppression and terrorism against its population, rebelling against the UN pertinent Resolutionsand impeding the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The Delegates emphasized that such Israeli aggressive acts and measures form flagrant, gross violation of the international laws, conventions and resolutions which all reject and condemn the annexation of others lands by the use of force. They also reject the measures that are changing the occupied lands geographic and demographic aspects and building settlements on them.
They consider such measures null and void.
The Meeting paused at the campaign of pressures and threats to which Syriais being exposed because she resists the Imperialist-Zionist plans and designs, clings to and defends her rights and the cause of peace and justice in the region, rejects the policy of dictation and conditions imposing, as well as supporting the peoples who resist aggression and occupation of their lands.
The Delegatesexpressed their high appreciation of Syria'ssteadfastness and pivotal role in resisting these plans and her efforts for establishing a just and comprehensive peace in the region. They voiced their support and firm solidarity with Syria. They emphasized their demand that Israel withdraws from the Syrian Golan Heights and from the occupied Palestinian lands and return to the 4th of June 1967 line, the creation of the Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, the return of the refugees to their homes and the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the remaining occupied Lebanese lands in Shabaa Farms and Kafrshouba hills. They also emphasized that the Syrian Golan Heights liberation cause is an indivisible part of the Arab-Israeli conflict. They renewed their call upon all the peace-loving forces in the world to enhance their solidarity and unite their efforts for championing the Golan liberation cause and restoring it to the motherland Syria.
