Resolution about the solidarity with the victims of “Agent Orange” in Vietnam
The 10th August is the starting day when US troops sprayed chemicals containing deadly dioxin “Agent Orange” over Vietnamese soil. It lasted ten years during which more than one million liter of chemical was used.
The dioxin “Agent Orange”, after 40 years is still causing damage to the people of Vietnam not only to the first generation but also other generations are suffering with many kinds of diseases. Nowadays more than 3 million people are victims of “gent Orange”, 300.000 out of them seriously suffering.
The above constitute the biggest consequences of the US war in Vietnam, and although it is over since more than 30 years, the suffering continues.
The WPC expresses its solidarity and support to the victims of war and their families.
The Executive Committee of the WPC declares the 10th August as day for the solidarity with the Vietnamese victims of the dioxin “Agent Orange” and call upon all WPC members and the entire World Peace Movement to take up initiatives in support of this cause.
